Obituary Condolences

Paul and Jean Mundt

MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Paul and Jean Mundt will be held at the Old First Congregational Church on Monument Avenue on May 1, at 1 p.m. A commemorative service will follow immediately afterwards at 2 p.m. at the Bennington Museum. There will be a slide/music display to honor Paul's and Jean's lives, followed by the opportunity for anyone who so wishes to share memories on their behalf. Refreshments will be served.

Jean Mundt, formally Jean Colleen McKee, was raised in Bennington by her parents, Jane and James McKee. Paul Mundt was born in Wheaton, Ill. He and Jean met at Emerson College and were married for 59 years.

Paul was a politician in New York for many years, but later he and Jean owned Real Estate offices in New York, then a landscape nursery in Jamaica, West Indies. Upon retiring they moved back to Bennington, where Paul was on the Board of Directors for the Bennington Museum.

Both Jean and Paul were very social people, and their sensitive, intelligent, loyal and compassionate natures insisted that they enjoy the camaraderie of others. Their home was always open to all, and the hospitality they extended to the many over the years is legendary.

Paul and Jean leave their four daughters, Debby, Dina, Paula and Donna, all of whom miss their parents dearly, but will honor the memories of their parents always.
