Paul Sausville 1933 - 2009 BENNINGTON Paul Sausville of East Road died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at his residence, surrounded by his family following a brief illness. Born in Bennington on April 9, 1933, son of William and Catherine Foley Sausville, Paul received his early education in Bennington at the Brooklyn School, Saint Francis de Sales Academy, and was a graduate of Bennington High School. Mr. Sausville served in the 167th Infantry Division 4th Platoon of the Army from 1953 to 1955. In earlier years Paul worked as a heavy equiptment operator for the William H. Morse Construction Company. He later worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 98 throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Northern Vermont. Paul's family was his main interest. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and traveling to Rangeley, Maine, to watch the moose. He married the former Mary Jane Weeks at Saint Francis de Sales Church on April 27, 1957. Besides his wife, Mary Jane Sausville of Bennington, he leaves their children, Catherine Parker, Paul Sausville Jr., Henry Sausville, and Phillip Sausville of Bennington, all of Bennington, and Steven Sausville of White Creek, N.Y.; three grandsons, Jason Sausville of Bennington, Phillip Sausville Jr of Hooksett, N.H., and Jacob Sausville of Bennington; three granddaughters, Amanda Sausville of Castleton, Sarah Sausville of Maine and Wendy Sausville of Bennington; two great-grandsons, Mitchell and Ayden Sausville of Shaftsbury; a brother, Joseph Sausville of Bennington, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, William Sausville and Thomas Sausville. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Resurrection will be held from the All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Demasi officiating. Burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home on Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Sausville may be made to the VNA and Hospice at the Southwestern Vermont Health Care through the office of the MAHAR and SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
