BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Pauline L. Torrey were held from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, where the burial office, rite one with Holy Eucharist was offered by Mother Anita Schell-Lambert, pastor, officiating.

The organist was Randall B. Krum. Musical selections offered during the service were “In the Garden” and “On Eagles’ Wings.” Serving as crucifer and chalicist was Emily Kennedy. Ushers were Donna Maroney and Perry Schaad.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery, where Mother Anita offered the committal prayers. Military honors were offered by members of the Williamstown American Legion Post No. 152. Serving as chaplain of Post 152 was Edward Pratt, who offered a prayer in memory of Pauline. The American flag was folded by American Legion Post 13 members Ralph Brown and Joseph Krawczyk and presented to Pauline’s husband, Edwin. Taps were sounded by Post 152 member Ronald Whitney. Serving as sergeant of arms was George Sylvester. Members of the color guard were George Walsh, Howard Demico, Joe Garry, Bob Garry and Don Kleiner. The firing squad consisted of George Miller, Ernest Monroe and Bob Garry Jr.

Serving as pallbearers were Pete Lemieux, Brian Rowe, Brandon Rowe, Michael Flanigan, Nathan Rowe and Eric Rowe-Sauer.

A reception followed the service at the Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Parish Center.

Tuesday evening, members of both the American Legion Post 13 and Post 152 conducted their service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pauline L. Torrey, a resident of Jennings Drive in Bennington, died Saturday, June 22, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington.
