Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Pauline M. Barber Stroffoleno, 73, a lifelong resident of Bennington, died peacefully Saturday evening, Nov. 27, 2004, at home on County Street, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Cambridge, N.Y. on June 8, 1931, the daughter of Willard Henry and Viola Mae (Harrington) Pratt and attended local school. She was a supervisor for many years at the former Creative Tools in Bennington. Pauline was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of Bennington.

Pauline loved the outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing and camping. She was an avid New York Yankee fan and loved watching her sons play softball, even traveling to tournaments to watch. Pauline enjoyed gardening and finding a good tag sale. She cherished her family, especially times spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by five sons, Arthur and Willard Barber of Bennington, Richard Barber of Pownal, David Barber of Bennington and Michael Barber of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; four daughters, Nancy Prouty, Pauline Dickinson, Sharon Burgess and Pamela Baker all of Bennington; six sisters, Arlene Sanders, Caroline Oldham, Janice Oldham and Diane Morse, all of Bennington, Mary Oldham of White Creek, N.Y., and Marjorie Pratt of Cambridge, N.Y.; Todd Stratton whom she raised and lived with for many years; 36 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Jacob Barber, who died March 29, 1977 and her second husband, William A. Stroffoleno, who died Oct. 26, 1996; two sons, Raymond George Barber and Mark Allen Barber; a sister, Sybil Clement; and four brothers, Roger, Harvey, Willis and Cecil Pratt.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stroffoleno will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington. Burial will follow in the family lot in Parklawn Cemetery.
