Paulyna Jo Wise

1942 - 2013 SANDGATE Paulyna Jo Wise, 71, of Sandgate, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in the company of her husband and son, following a long battle with cancer.

The daughter of Charles Melvin and Margaret Paulyna Ives Creamer, Jo was born in Stevens County, Kan., on July 23, 1942. She was educated in Hugoton, Kan., public schools and received degrees from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and Oklahoma University.

She loved her children, books and education and worked for 29 years as a librarian at the elementary, high school and college levels before retiring in 2000 and volunteering in area school and community libraries.

Jo is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years, Robert E. "Bob" Wise of Sandgate; daughter, Jennifer Hanson, Sublette, Kan.; son, Zack Wise, and daughter-in-law, Joni Kay WIse of Terre Haute, Ind.; grandchildren, Alex Hanson, Amarillo Texas, Blakeley Wise, Terre Haute, Molly Hanson, Amarillo, Ryan Wise, New Smyrna, Fla., and great-grandson, GIvens Marcus Mosley, Terre Haute, Ind.; siblings, Rose Ann Lof, Sherwood, Ore.; Shirley Mitchell, Garden City, Kan.; Janice Dyke, Cedaredge, Colo.; Charles Creamer, Jr., Hugoton, Kan.; Larry Creamer, Liberal, Kan.; Sharon Butler, Mooreland, Okla.; Roy Lee.Creamer, Cashion, Okla.; Robin Brown, Woodward, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Jan Wise, Des Monies, lowa, and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Per Jo's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.

The family would like to thank the wonderful health professionals at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for their kind comfort and care.
