SOUTH SANDWICH, Mass. -- Perry James Hamilton, 81, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 at his residence. He was born Monday, May 16, 1922 in Bennington, Vt. He was an active member of the First Church of Christ in Sandwich and sang in the church choir. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. He was also a member of the American Legion Post in Sandwich. He was employed at General Electric Co. as an analyst in the naval ordinance division for 15 years, retiring in 1984.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and Korea.

He is survived by his wife Anne Hamilton of Sandwich; two daughters Paula C. Dickinson of Burke, Va., and Jennifer Hamilton of Sandwich; a son James A. Hamilton of Pittsfield; two sisters Arlene Nelson of California and Virginia North of Concord, N.H.; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, six grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother and father James and Bertha Hamilton.

Funeral services will be at First Church of Christ, Dec. 9, 2003 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Geertz officiating. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. There will be no calling hours. Memorials may be sent to First Church of Christ, 136 Main St., Sandwich, MA 02563.
