CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Perry “Toby” Wescott Jr., 77, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. He resided on Division Street in Cambridge with his wife Carolyn (Brundige) Wescott.

Perry was born on June 1, 1929, in Berlin, son of the late Perry and Clara-Bell (Burdick) Wescott Sr. He attended schools in Berlin. He owned and operated a farm in Valley Falls for many years. Perry enjoyed woodworking, farm tractors and cows.

Survivors other than his wife Carolyn include his stepdaughter, Mary Ann Shippee, and husband Tim of Northville; stepson Gustav Saur and his wife Tammy of Johnsonville; grandchildren Samantha, Paul and Jonathan Saur of Johnsonville, and Jessica and Andrea Shippee of Northville; four sisters, Ida Zablocky of Watervliet, Elizabeth Brock of North Hoosick, and Joyce Alderman and Martha Oakes, both of Berlin, two brothers, Elmer Wescott of Berlin and Joseph Wescott of Valley Falls; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Perry is predeceased by six brothers, Chester, Jesse, Loyal, Willis, Donald and Robert Wescott, and his sister, Marion.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St., Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at Millertown Cemetery in Johnsonville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
