Peter P. McLaughlin, 80, a resident of Hill Hollow Road in Petersburgh, New York died Thursday November 10, 2016 at the Warren Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Queensbury, NY following a brief illness.

He was born in New York, New York March 17, 1936. He was the son of the late William J. and Ellen M. (Crowley) McLaughlin. Peter received his Associates Degree education in New York and was a graduate of Morrisville.

Peter was self-employed as a freelance writer. He won the award "The Silver Anvil" in 1969. Peter was employed as a professional writer for the prestigious NYC Public Relations Firm Burson Marsteller.

Recently he wrote for Berkshire Living Magazine. He also wrote about fine artist and their exhibits for the Harrison Gallery in Williamstown Ma.

Peter had a sense of humor that wouldn't quit He live in many different place throughout his life. California, Rochester, NY, New York, NY. and Wilmington Vt.

Survivors include a sister in law Marion McLaughlin of Buffalo, New York; his nieces and nephews Patricia Schall and her husband Greg of Buffalo, NY, Christopher McLaughlin of Buffalo, Dr. John McLaughlin and Stacey(Strentz)of Fredericksburg, Virginia, James McLaughlin of Glens Falls, NY, Tim McLaughlin of Bleeker, NY, Jim McLaughlin of California and Maureen McLaughlin of New York, N.Y. He was predeceased by his longtime partner Kathryn "Kate" Knights and two brothers, William J. McLaughlin Jr. and James L McLaughlin.

SERVICES: A memorial to celebrate the life of Peter P. McLaughlin will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday November 15, at 2:00 p.m.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
