Obituary Condolences

PETERSBURGH, N.Y. -- Philip S. Sheridan, 48, of River Road, died on Monday evening, Jan. 24, 2005, at his residence.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany on Sept. 18, 1956, he was the son of Elizabeth Spencer Sheridan Hubbard of Petersburgh and the late S.F.C. Eugene Sheridan who died in the Vietnam War. He and his mother moved to Petersburgh when he was 13 to live with his grandparents.

Phil graduated from Berlin Central High School and attended trade school upon completion. He was a partner with his stepfather in Hubbard Refrigeration in Petersburgh and started his own business, Sheridan Refrigeration, in 1989. In 2002, he formed Ridge Runner Refrigeration in Arlington, Vt. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

Survivors include his wife, the former Linda L. Harrison, whom he married on Oct. 11, 1976 in the Petersburgh United Methodist Church; a daughter, Laura S. (Joshua) Johnson of Climax, N.C.; a son, Bill Sheridan of Petersburgh; a granddaughter and the “apple of his eye,” Hannah R. Sheridan; his mother and stepfather, J. Mason and Betty Hubbard; his in-laws, Leonard and Alice Trexler, all of Petersburgh; along with two stepbrothers and two stepsisters. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Raymond A. Harrison.

Funeral services will be on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, where the Rev. Walter Knightes will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
