Phyllis Binkley Obituary
Dorset, VT - Phyllis Binkley, 88, a resident of Dorset, passed away October 26, 2017 at Equinox Terrace in Manchester.

Phyllis was born in Bay Shore, NY on November 10, 1928 the daughter of the late Edward Lehman Binkley and Ruth Elizabeth Holbrook. She attended Amityville, NY public schools and Cornell University graduating with a BA in 1949.

After eight years working in publishing and market research in New York City, she and a business colleague bought the Landmark Gift Shop in Manchester, VT. In 1960 Phyllis joined the staff at Factory Point Bank where she worked for many years. In 1964 she and co-owner Jean Viebrock moved the Landmark to Barnumville Road.

In the years following her retirement from banking Phyllis was a financial advisor to many area people. Phyllis was an accomplished writer and poet. She was a former trustee for Manchester Health Services and the Dorset Nursing Association.

She is survived by her sister Anne B. Larrouy of Stockton, CA, sister in-law Lelia M. Binkley of Evergreen, CO, her brother-in-law Robert J. Fay of Shamong, NJ and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother William, sister Judith Fay and Jean Viebrock.

SERVICES: At the request of Phyllis there will be no formal funeral service. Family and friends are invited to gather at Phyllis's home in Dorset on November 11, 2017 from 2-5pm to share memories of a life well lived.
