1934 - 2015 NORTH POWNAL, VT Phyllis M. Bisson, 81, a longtime resident of North Pownal, VT died Sunday March 29, 2015 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington surrounded by her family. She was born in Hancock, MA March 24, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Orinda (Gravel) Jones. Phyllis received her early education in Hancock and later attended Williamstown High School in Williamstown, MA. On July 18, 1953 Phyllis married Leo A Bisson at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in North Pownal. In earlier years Phyllis was employed at the Pownal Tannery. She later worked at General Cable in Williamstown, MA and over the years babysat many of the children in North Pownal. Her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her main interest. She also enjoyed puzzles, puzzle books, crocheting, gardening, flowers and bird watching. Survivors include her husband, Leo A. Bisson of North Pownal, her children, Linda A. DiMauro of Bowie, Maryland, Gwen M. Reale and her husband, Rick of Lebanon, CT, Lois J. Bisson and her husband, Louis E. Conrad II of Lexington, MA, Paula B. Zoito and her husband, Albert of North Adams, MA and Joseph L. Bisson and his wife, Michele of Pownal, VT; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Thursday April 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Wiseman, officiating. The burial will take place in the family lot at the North Pownal Cemetery at the convenience of the family. At Phyllis's request there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Phyllis M. Bisson may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
