WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --Phyllis Esther (Walker) Stone, 80, of 113 Main St. Williamstown, Mass., died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at the Williamstown Commons. She was born in Williamstown on April 22, 1927, a daughter of the late Clarence and Pearl (Thompson) Walker. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1944. She was last employed at the Upjohn Co. in Greenfield. Before that she worked at the DataLogic Co. in Framingham. She lived in Framingham and Sunderland, returning to Williamstown in 1999. She was a member of St, John’s Episcopal Church in North Adams. She also was a member of the Williamstown Grange and the Hopkinton Grange. She enjoyed cake decorating, reading, sewing, gardening and cooking.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Everett Franklin Stone, whom she married Oct. 11, 1947, at St. John’s Church in North Adams; three daughters, Brenda G. Carroll of Oxford, Sheree N. Saunders of Rochester, N.H., and Marilee P. Swindell of Ternple, N.H.; two sons, Ronald E. Stone of Brattleboro, Vt. and Gary A. Stone of Medford; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Saunders and Doris Andreatta both of North Adams. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Walker.

Funeral services for Phyllis Esther (Walker) Stone will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, North Adams, with the Rev. Edward King, rector, as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling Hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
