Polly Dunn BENNINGTON Polly Dunn, 80, wife of Larry Dunn, a longtime resident, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, following a long illness.Born in Bennington, Polly was the daughter of Paul and Nina Swan Kittel and was raised on the family farm on East Road. She received her education in the Bennington schools and was a 1946 graduate of Bennington High School. In earlier years, Polly was employed at the EZ Mills, Union Carbide and Stanley Tools. Polly was a member of the White Chapel Society for many years. She enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, NASCAR racing and working at the family sugaring house, The Leakee Bucket Sugar Shack. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was her greatest pleasure. Larry and Polly were married Aug. 14, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church in Bennington. Besides her husband, Larry Dunn of Bennington, she leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Stephen Moses of Margate, Fa.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Rose Dunn of Bennington; three grandchildren, Jason Dunn and his wife, Stephanie, and Jessica Campbell and her husband, Chris, all of Bennington, and Jennison Moses of Margate; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Dunn and Lauren Campbell; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Claude Apfelbeck of Abbottsford, Wis.,n and Phyllis and Bud Tate of Buskirk, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Beth Kittel of Randolph, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Polly was predeceased by an infant son, Timothy James Dunn. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Polly Dunn will be Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. from the White Chapel on Chapel Road. At Polly's request, there will be no calling hours. Private committal services will take place at the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, contributions in Polly Dunn's memory may be made to either the White Chapel Society or the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center through the office of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
