She was born in Bennington on July 16, 1943 and was the loving daughter of the late Lewis and Lestina (Wheeler) Carpenter. She received her education in local schools and was a graduate of Bennington High School in the class of 1961.

She graduated from Mount Ida Junior College in Newton Center, Mass. in the class of 1964, and then attended North Hampton (Mass.) Business College. Priscilla moved back to Bennington following her college years and went to work at Vishay, (the former Tansitor Company) on Oct. 11, 1965, and stayed there until Jan. 11, 2003, when she left due to her illness. She had spent 37 years with the company. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Bennington, having served on several committees over the years. She had been a devoted caregiver to both of her parents.

Priscilla is the beloved sister and sister-in-law of Janet and Roger Gram of Rochester, N.Y., and the loving niece of Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford McCarthy of Spokane, Wash. Her local cousins in Bennington are J. Russell Carpenter and his son John Carpenter; other cousins include Ethan Crawford and Charles Crawford, both of Washington. Priscilla also leaves several treasured friends around Bennington.

Services will be held on Friday morning, July 11, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 601 East Main St., Bennington, with the Rev. Norma Drosky, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.

Friends are invited to join the family for a social gathering on Thursday evening, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Della Whittier Lounge at the First Baptist Church. Memorials in her honor may be made to the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center or the charity of one’s choice, through the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 957, Bennington, VT, 05201.
