MOUNT DORA, Fla. -- Rachel Peckham Andrews, 93, formerly of Pownal, Vt. and of Mount Dora, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at the Ruleme Center in Eustis. She was born in Pownal on Nov. 7, 1910, a daughter of Clyde and Edna (Chaffee) Peckham, and attended local school. She graduated from Drury High School in North Adams, Mass. in 1929 and attended almost every reunion up through her 60th class reunion.

With her husband, Harold F. Andrews, they owned and operated Mountain View Inn in Pownal for 20 years.

Mrs. Andrews was very active in senior citizens organizations in Mount Dora and the Lake Ola Baptist Church. She was a nurse and companion for many Mount Dora residents and very involved with charitable fund drives.

She is survived by two sons, Clifton Andrews of Umatilla and George Andrews of Pownal; a daughter, Mary Jane Rounds formerly of Pownal and of Mount Dora; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her husband Harold F. Andrews and two sons, Harry and Martin Andrews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Lake Ola Baptist Church in Florida. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Andrews will be held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal. The Rev. Eugene Kemp of Pownal Center Community Church will conduct the service. Visiting hours at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington, Vt., will be held Monday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Andrews’ memory may be made to the Pownal Center Community Church in care of Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O.
