Ralph David Shores 1929 - 2009 MANCHESTER Ralph David Shores, 80, died Thursday in Brush Creek, Tenn., after battling cancer for several months. He was born in Mount Tabor on Jan. 23, 1929. He served eight years in the Air Force. Mr. Shores made a living in his early years as a logger throughout the New England area. He spent 30 years driving truck for North American Van Lines as a household goods mover, cross country. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Bertha Shores; his brother, Alvin Shores of Manchester; two sisters, Anna Keyes of Terryville, Conn., and Marion Burke of Whitehall, N.Y.; five sons, Ralph "Rocky" Shores of Torrington, Conn., Cy Shores of Brush Creek, Carroll "Joe" Shores of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Christopher Shores of Gordonsville, Tenn., and Al Read of Mesa, Colo.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, with whom he enjoyed spending time. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Shores, and by two sisters, Caroline Moffitt and Dorothy Sobol. He will be missed by all. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services are Sunday, April 19, at 12:30 p.m. at BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, and Monday, April 20, at 2 p.m., followed by committal services, ministered by John French, at Maple Hill Cemetery, Dorset.
