Ralph "Bus" Griswold 1921 - 2010 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Ralph DeForest "Bus" Griswold, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. He resided on Cipperly Road with his wife Vera Cipperly Griswold. Ralph was born on Feb. 5, 1921, in North Chatham, son of the late Ralph J. and Analda Fournier Griswold. He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School class of 1939. Ralph worked as a farm machine mechanic at Bennington Farm Equipment, then Capital Tractor and later at Haynes Ford in Hoosick Falls. He was a member of the Hoosick Fire Department and the Hoosick Grange. Ralph enjoyed collecting toy farm equipment. Survivors other than his wife, Vera, include his daughter, Kathy Bailey (Russ) of Amenia, NY; sons, Don Griswold (Donna) of Arlington, Vt., and Jerry Griswold (Gerry) of Bennington, Vt.; sisters, Winnie Ferguson of LaPorte, Penn., and Patricia Heise of Colchester, Vt., brother, Rudy Griswold of Anthony, Mexico, his grandchildren, Christina Wortman (Kevin) of Rutland, Vt., Melanie Muniz (Mac) of Bennington, Vt., Jocelyn Hawley, Britni and Dillon Hawley, all of Arlington, Vt., Delaney Bailey of Amenia, Wes Dewey of St. Peters, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Brandon Wortman, Rutland, Vt., Keegan Pierce Arlington, Vt. and Adrianna Dewey of Bennington, Vt. Ralph was predeceased by a grandchild, Kelsea Hawley, sister Beverly Solcum, and a brother, Earl Griswold. MEMORIAL NOTICE: Memorial services will be on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 1 p.m. from the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Ronald McDonald House in Albany, NY, through the funeral home.
