Ralph R. McCart Obituary
Ralph Robert McCart (Bob) passed away peacefully at home in Davenport, FL on February 22, 2017.

Bob was born on January 13, 1927, son of Ralph R. McCart and Rena (Prebble) McCart. He was educated in a one-room schoolhouse in White Creek, NY and joined the Merchant Marines/United States Coast Guard in 1943, serving during World War II until his discharge in 1946. He then returned to White Creek where he purchased and operated a dairy farm for many years. He later owned and operated Doughtery's Hotel in Hoosick Falls, NY and drove a school bus for Hoosick Falls Central School for 27 years, retiring in 1989.

Bob was a devoted and loving father to his three sons, always present supporting them at their many different athletic events and throughout their adult lives. Bob always had a smile and kind words for everyone he encountered. He never lost his sharp wit and sense of humor.

Bob was an avid bowler, having bowled in several different leagues at Barbecue Recreation, where he could be found either bowling, watching his children bowl, or just socializing. He was also an avid golfer and a long-time member of the Hoosick Falls Country Club.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Hill); his sister and her husband, Marion and Robert Shufelt; his children and their spouses, Tim and Donna, Scott and Sarah, and Eric and Kelly; his step-children, Bruce Burrington, Mark Burrington, and Tim and Bonnie (Burrington) Burns; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Erin, Connor, Evan, Emma, Ryan, Nicholas, Andrew, and Kendall; his former wife, Sandra McCart; and several nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his parents, his step-mother, Lillian Bouplon McCart, and his sister and her husband, Harriet and Donald Stevens.

SERVICES: Friends and family may call at the Jermain United Methodist Church, 6 Niles Road, White Creek, NY on Tuesday, February 28, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm. A reception to celebrate Bob's life will be held immediately following the prayer service at the Jermain Hall in White Creek, NY.
