Ramona Belle Clark 1917-2011 Ramona Belle Clark, 93, lovingly known as "Monie" by family, passed away at Centers for Living and Rehabilitation on May 31. She was born on Oct. 16, 1917, in Richmond, Vt. Her childhood years were spent on a dairy farm in Morrisville, Vt. After graduation from People's Academy High School in Morrisville and some nursing education, she traveled with her sister to Connecticut, then returned to Vermont. She was employed as chambermaid at the Dorset Inn, as housekeeper, cook and cocktail waitress for various private employers in the Dorset, Manchester and Weston areas. Later in life she became caregiver for Rufus J. Baker, now deceased. Ramona was a private, modest, woman with strong willpower. Her love, blue eyes and generosity will never be forgotten. She had a discerning palate, made delicious desserts, meals, and loved soft ice cream. Reading romance novels, watching TV and playing the Reader's Digest Sweepstakes were her passions. She is survived by her sister, Esther Carpenter of West Pawlet, Vt.; nieces, Virginia Labbe of S. Paris, Maine, Joan Brooks of Wells, Vt., Nancy Burditt of Ft. Collins, Colo., Judy Carpenter of Dorset, and Bonnie Carpenter of Underhill, Vt.; nephews, Judson Carpenter of Watervliet, N.Y., Kevin Clark and Jennifer Lamire of Colchester, and Stephen Clark of Ganesvoort, N.Y.; 12 great-nieces and nine great-nephews, as well as six great great-nephews. Private burial will be in the Clark family lot in Morrisville, Vt.
