BENNINGTON -- Ray B. Jaquith, 62, a resident of Bennington, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation following a brief illness.

Born in Bennington Nov. 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Earl B. and Charlotte (Reynolds) Jaquith. For the past three years Ray had lived at the Hill Top House Community Care Home in Brattleboro.

After graduating from Bennington High School in 1962, he lived in the Bennington area and was employed by the Polygraphic company and Poly II Press for a number of years. He then worked at various farms in the area.

He later moved to Rutland where he managed Kay-Bee Toys in Rutland and worked as a foreman for a local construction company. He was last employed by Excelsior Printing in North Adams, Mass.

Ray enjoyed photography, drawing, painting and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed the company of his extended family and friends and was known to them as “Gramps.”

Survivors include a son, Ethan S. Jaquith of Rutland; four sisters, Charlotte “Vicki” Cutler and her husband Robert of Bennington, Craiga Jaquith of Arizona, Adelaide Jaquith of Shaftsbury and Michelle Armstrong and her husband Doug of Rupert; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Ray was predeceased by a son, Michael Jaquith, in 1984.

Memorial services celebrating the life of Ray Jaquith will be held from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bennington on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 at 3 p.m. where the burial office with Holy Eucharist will be offered by the Rev. Anita Schell-Lambert, rector.

There will be no calling hours.
