Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Raymond J. O’Hara, 88, a former resident of West Arlington, died on Thursday morning, Feb. 5, 2004, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, following a long illness. He was born in Jersey City, N.J. on Aug. 31, 1915, and was the son of James and Mary (Kettle) O’Hara. He received his education in New Jersey and attended City College in New York City and Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. On April 26,1947, be married the former Ruth F. Albert in New Jersey. Mrs. O’Hara survives. Mr. O’Hara had been employed by the Art Skein Company as a textile dyer in New Jersey for several years. But for most of his professional life be owned and operated O’Hara’s Deli in Ringwood, N.J. The O’Hara’s retired to West Arlington 25 years ago.

Mr. O’Hara bad been a member of the Knights of Columbus in New Jersey and a member of the Arlington Lions Club. He was a communicant of St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Arlington. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Raymond A. O’Hara of Marlboro, Mass.; one daughter, Kathryn O’Hara of Woodstock; and one brother, James O’Hara of New Jersey. He also has three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. O’Hara is predeceased by several brothers and sisters and one grandchild.

Funeral service will be held in the spring. Interment will be private. Memorial in his honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Association in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Arlington Chapel, P.O. Box 528, Arlington, VT 05250.
