Raymond Joseph LaCroix Obituary
Raymond Joseph LaCroix, born 1932, American patriot and Roman Catholic of the Canadian French heritage, was the only son of Aime A. LaCroix and Alexina M. (Dupont) LaCroix passed away January 30, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Unnur, and his sisters Celine Mallory, Theresa (Terri) Miller and Marie Thomas. Ray and Unnur married in Reykjavik, Iceland where he was employed for many years with the Department of the Navy at the NATO base. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Ray attended schools in Bennington and Burlington, VT. He is survived by four children: Anthony James of Pownal, VT, Marie Elsie of Davis, CA, Diane Jennifer of Chowchilla, CA and Michael Sigfus of Green Bay, WI, and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Germaine Rhodes of S. Williamstown, MA and Martha Buoni of Williamstown, MA, and by his extended family of in-laws in Iceland.

Upon retirement from Federal Service he resided in Pownal, VT, worked for the Mace Company in Bennington, VT, then relocated to Sarasota, FL. Ray was an avid golfer.

There will be no calling hours, Ashes will be deposited at his wife's gravesite in Reykjavik, Iceland, at the LaCroix family burial plot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, VT and at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sarasota, FL. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Reykjavik, Iceland , where Ray and Unnur were married.

He begs forgiveness from everyone he has trespassed against, and forgives everyone who may have trespassed against him. In sanctifying grace, he was prepared to meet the One Living God the Father, Son Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit.
