Raymond Paul Krawczyk 1920-2011 BENNINGTON Raymond Paul Krawczyk, 91, a longtime resident of Vail Road in Bennington died Thursday November 17, 2011 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington surrounded by his family. He was born in Bennington, Vt., July 30, 1920. He was the son of the late Wojciech Albert and Agnieska Agnes Mary Wawrzynek Krawczyk. He received his education in Bennington. Mr. Krawczyk served in the United States Army during World War II. He married the former Katherine Louise Hurley on September 27, 1952 at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Bennington. In earlier years Ray was employed at the Ben Mont Paper Company in Bennington, Cushman Furniture in North Bennington and the Schmeltzer Corporation in Bennington. He was a Life Member of the Bennington Lodge of Elks # 567 and the American Legion Post 13 Survivors include his wife Katherine L. Krawczyk of Bennington. A daughter Agnes Mary Racicot and her husband Greg of Pownal;. two grandsons, Caleb Racicot of Atlanta, Ga., and Obediah Racicot and his wife Laura of Sterling, Virginia, a granddaughter Celisha Racicot of Clarksburg, Mass. One brother Joseph Krawczyk of Bennington and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was pre-deceased by four brothers, William, Peter, John and Paul Krawczyk and two sisters, Veronica Coonradt and Julia Lominski. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will b e held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday Nov. 21, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. The burial with military honors will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday Nov. 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Raymond Paul Krawczyk may be made to either Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church or the Vermont Veterans Home through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT. Guest book condolences may be made at www.maharandsonfuneralhome.net The following organizations are requested to meet at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday Nov. 20 to conduct their services. The American Legion Post 13 at 4:00 p.m. and the Bennington Lodge of Elks # 567 at 4:30 p.m.
