Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Raymond P. Fernandez, 66, a resident of the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, died on Monday, May 3, 2004 following a long illness.

He was born in Stamford, Conn. on March 15, 1938 and was the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Rutledge) Fernandez. He received his education in Forest Dale, and attended business school.

He worked for several years at his family’s paint factory in Forest Dale. After moving to Bennington he worked as the night auditor for the Paradise Motor Lodge in Bennington.

He married the former Tammy Gates on Aug. 11, 1979 in Pownal; she survives.

He is a former member of the Moose Lodge of Bennington. He was an avid bowler, archer and baseball player.

Besides his wife, he is survived by cousins. He is predeceased by one sister, Connie Carvey.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday morning, May 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brandon. There are no calling hours scheduled.
