Raymond J. Pinsonneault 1932 - 2011 NORTH BENNINGTON Raymond J. Pinsonneault, 79, of Grant Street died Saturday evening, June 11, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his family, following a brief illness. Born in Bennington on Jan. 1, 1932, son of Edward and Alice LaFlamme Pinsonneault, he received his education in Bennington, where he attended Sacred Heart School and was a 1950 graduate of Bennington High School, where Ray was a member of the baseball team for four years. For three years, he served in the Army, two of which were in Germany. For 23 years, he owned and operated the Vermont Restaurant in Bennington. He later worked for seven years at the Union Carbide Corporation in Bennington. Ray was a life member of the Bennington Elks Lodge # 567, VFW Post 1332, and the American Legion Post 13. He was a great sports enthusiast and supporter of many of the local sports teams. He played American Legion baseball for two years and for several years played fast pitch softball in Bennington. He enjoyed deer hunting and especially enjoyed going to Pine Valley with his friends. Most recently he enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Hold Em. His family and grandchildren were his main interest. He leaves his wife Anna (Pak) Okcha Pinsonneault of North Bennington; a daughter, Jody Harrington of Arlington, Va.; a son, Shawn Harrington and his wife, Robyn, of Manchester,; two grandsons, Taylor Harrington and Graham Harrington of Manchester; a brother, Peter Pinsonneault and his wife, Esther, of Mesa, Ariz., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Hector Pinsonneault. FUNERAL NOTICE: At Ray's request, there will be no calling hours. The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at 10:15 when the Rosary will be offered, and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Burial will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery where military honors will be offered If friends desire, contributions in memory of Ray may be made to either VNA and Hospice at the Southwestern Vermont Health Care or the through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
