Raymond Squiers 1935 - 2008 EAGLE BRIDGE, N.Y. Raymond Walter Squiers, 72, of Eagle Bridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 30, 2008 at his residence. Born on Dec. 29, 1935 in Bennington, Vt., son of Walter and Clarice Henderson Squiers, he graduated from Arlington High School in 1954. He proudly served his country in the Army from 1954 to 1956. Mr. Squiers was a truck driver for Holmes in Bennington. He was also a mechanic in Wallingford, Conn., where he lived before moving back to this area in 1969. He and his family enjoyed the Battenkill, especially rafting, tubing and fishing. He was a former member of the Bennington American Legion and enjoyed a good time with his family and friends. He loved playing horseshoes, canoeing, darts and ping pong. He leaves his wife, Frances Joy "Dot" Jay Squiers; his two sons, Raymond Squiers Jr. of Eagle Bridge and Rodney Squiers and his wife, Bernice, of Buskirk; a granddaughter,Danielle of Pittsfield, Mass.; a sister, Marge Coulter and her husband, Jerry, of Arlington, Vt., and a brother, David Squiers and his wife, Betty of Gray, Tenn.; an aunt, Beryl Curtis of Bennington, Vt., and his sisters-in-law, Jessie and Harold Pickens Jordan of Arcadia, Fla., Betty Stewart of Forida, Ida Holcombe of South Carolina, Nancy and Bill Boden of Poultney, Vt., and Debbie Santoro of Danbury, Conn., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends are invited to an informal gathering on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the family's residence in Eagle Bridge. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the ACKLEY & ROSS FUNERAL HOME, 73 West Main St., Cambridge, NY.
