Obituary Condolences

ARLINGTON -- Raymond “Jack” Wilkins, 82, a longtime resident of Carbonti Circle, died Thursday, June 3, 2004, following a long illness, at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington where he had resided since April.

Mr. Wilkins was born in Caroline, N.Y. on Oct. 24, 1921, the son of the late James and Sarah (Lent) Wilkins. He and his family relocated to the Manchester area In 1927, settling in Peru Village. Growing up in the Peru area, he attended schools there and in South Londonderry. He was married to Virginia Nelson on July 1, 1944 in the Fair Haven Congregational Church. Mrs. Wilkins predeceased him on Jan. 4, 2003. For several years he had worked at Mack Molding Co., retiring from there in the position of foreman. He was a longtime member of the Federated Church of East Arlington and had enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and cooking.

He leaves his daughters, Bonnie Rae Wilkins of Arlington and Donna Lee Stone and her husband Thomas Stone of Shaftsbury; four sisters, Myretta Westine of Chester, Charlotte Norse of Rutland, Ida Beauregard of Mt. Tabor and Dorothy Daley of Largo, Fla.; three grandsons, Michael J. Lindsey of North Bennington, Todd A. Lane of Arlington and W. James Lane and his wife Carrie of East Jamaica; and four great-grandchildren, Riley Lane, Jackson Lane, Emma Lane and Carly Lane. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brothers, James and Kenneth Wilkins.

Funeral services will be held at the Federated Church of East Arlington on Tuesday, June 8 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Thomas Truscott, interim pastor.

Burial will follow in the Wilkins family lot in Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshment following the committal prayers in Bailey Hall, all are invited to attend. Friends may call at the Arlington Chapel of the Hanson Walbridge Funeral Rome, Route 7A on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m., when the family will be present.
