Rebecca J. Hurley
1959-2009 NORTH BENNINGTON, VT Rebecca J. Hurley, 50, a resident of White Creek Road in North Bennington and formerly of Burlington, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., surrounded by her family.
Rebecca was born in Bennington on Sept. 26, 1959, daughter of Clarence Hurley and Catherine Church Devlin and attended Bennington schools.
Upon moving to Burlington, Rebecca worked for Ames department stores, the Ramada Inn and Hannaford Supermarkets as a department manager. Rebecca enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and scratch tickets and spending time with her family and friends.
Rebecca leaves her children, Charles Hurley of Barre, Newton Camp Jr. of Chicago, Ill. and Jennifer Stover of Barre; her stepson, Jeff Corcoran of Burlington; her father, Clarence Hurley, of Hebron, N.Y.; her grandmother, Gertrude Butler, of Bennington; her brothers, Robert Hurley of Pownal, Edward Hurley and Patrick Hurley of Hanover, Pa., Andy Hurley of Salem, N.Y., and John Hurley of Granville, N.Y.; her sisters, Judy Cross of Rye, Texas, Cindy Tifft of North Bennington, Terry Putnam of Cambridge, N.Y., and Tammy Hughes of Petersburg, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother, Catherine Devlin, who died Dec. 27, 2007; and her companion, Tim Corcoran, who died Nov. 24, 2008.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Rebecca will be held Monday morning Dec. 14, 2009 at 11a.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT. Interment will follow in Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland, VT.
Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, Dec. 13, from 4 to -6 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
