GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- Richard A. Martin, 72, of Glens Falls passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2004 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on April 5, 1932 at home in Easton, he was the son of Thomas and Grace (Goman) Martin. Richard attended school in Greenwich. He worked for Madison Construction for many years, worked on the cleaning crew for General Electric and worked for All Pro Cleaning Company up until the time of his death.

Richard was a life member of the Moose Club, the new Country Fan Club, and member of the American Camp Ground. He loved camping with family and friends and spent many happy weekends camping with his friends Terry Rose and Paul Lopez and his niece and nephew Anita and Jimmy Rose. He also loved to play cards, cook, garden and raise flowers.

The fine woodwork he created for family and friends was made from the heart with much love.

Richard enjoyed and cherished his grandchildren.

Besides his parent he is predeceased by his sister Alberta Martin; his brother Thomas Martin and his daughter Nellie Grace (Gowan) Martin; his daughters, Eva J. VanLoan and Marjorie McClure and her husband Harold McClure.

Survivors include his wife of many years, Rhoda (Flavin) Martin of Glens Falls; his children, Allen L. Martin and his wife Amanda; Richard G. Martin and his wife Margaret; Geri A. Parker and her husband Lewis; Michelle Brilyea and her husband Larry; and Nicole Willette and her husband Scott; his adopted daughters, Debbie McClure, Linda Ashe and her husband Dave, and Paula Wescott and her husband Bob; his brother Harry Martin and his wife Alice; his sisters Dorothy Miller and Alice Martin; his grandchildren, John C. King, Doreen M. King, Marsha Parker, Stacey Pompey-Goss and her husband Gregory, Billy O’Donell and his wife Cindy, Raymond O’Donell and wife Nadine, Tanya Gatlyn, Renata Grosebeck and her husband Eugene, Armine Martin, Larry Brilyea Jr., Brandi Brilyea and her companion Scott, Angel Brilyea, Sean Willette, Tyler Willette, Ernie Mears, John Mears, and Susie Dreshar; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury with Captain Carol Hayes of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the funeral home.

Friends and family will gather at the home of the deceased at 7 Murdock Ave. of Glens Falls.
