Richard Bruce

AUBURN, Ga. -- Richard “Duke” Bruce, 48, of Auburn and formerly of Danby, Vt., died April 9, 2005, after a lengthy illness.

Duke was born March 26, 1957 in St. Albans, Vt., the son of Donald and Anne (Cooley) Bruce.

He attended Burr and Burton Seminary, where he served as class president in 1975, his senior year. Duke was a former Marine, a motorcyclist, and an athlete.

He is survived by his wife Kaye (DuBois) Bruce; two sons, Jason of N.C., and Robert of California; two step-daughters, Jennifer Korejko, and Kari Halligan, of Danby; three brothers, David, of N.Y., Jon, of Rutland, Vt., and Tom, of Danby; one sister, Sally, of Florida; one granddaughter; and a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents.

A gathering will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the home of Martin Coleman, 583 Brooklyn Road, Mount Tabor, Vt. Family and friends are invited to join for a time of fellowship and reflection. Please bring photos and/or a favorite memory to share. Contributions of hot or cold dishes will be welcomed.
