Richard Kenneth "BUD" Trombley Sr. 1929 - 2009 WILLIAMSTOWN Richard Kenneth "BUD" Trombley Sr., 80 of 2 Higgins Court, Williamstown, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident in Pownal, Vt. He was born in Williamstown, Ma. on March 9, 1929, son of Lionel D. Trombley and Viola LaCosse Trombley. He attended schools in Williamstown including the former Williamstown High School. He was a veteran of the Army serving as a private. He was employed for 18 years as a heavy machine operator for the City of North Adams. He then was employed at the Williamstown National Bank in the maintenance department. Bud then was the owner and operator of Bud's Cleaning Co. He was employed at the time of his death as the caretaker for Harsch Associates in Williamstown. He was a longtime and active member of the Richard Reuther Post #152 American Legion in Williamstown where he served in several position including two terms as commander, under his leadership the post was able to move to their new location and the Memorial Honor Roll at Field Park was established. He volunteered for the Williamstown Christmas Walk and at the Information Booth. He was 28 years member of the International Lions Club in Williamstown and later in Bennington, Vt. While in Williamstown he served in several offices and was a past president. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and all the athletic teams at Williams College. In his younger years he played semi-professional football in Bennington, Vt. He leaves his former wife; Mary Darling Trombley-Bellanger of Sioux, S.D., one daughter; Andrea Bryant, and her husband Daniel, of Williamstown, one son; Richard Kenneth Trombley Jr., and his wife, Tammy, of North Pownal, Vt., and Holly Mead whom he thought of as a daughter, five grandchildren; Richard K. Trombley III, Amber Lee Bryant, James R. Bryant, Alyssa Marie Towslee Trombley and Luke Wilson Towslee Trombley. He was predeceased by a son Scott Trombley whom died in Infancy and two brothers; John and Donald Trombley. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside Services with full military honors will take place Thursday March 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Westlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA, with the Rev. Peter Daniels of the First Baptist Church of Williamstown, officiating. There are No Calling Hours. Memorial Donations are suggested for the Williamstown Veterans Memorial Fund or to Lions International Fund in care of the Bennington, Vt. Lions Club through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Ma.
