Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Richard L. “Rik” Hustler were held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday, April 20, with the Rev. Norma Drosky, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, officiating.

Musical selections offered during the funeral service included “On Eagles’ Wings,” “Live Like You Were Dying,” “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” and a jazz instrumental.

Favorite quotes of Rik’s from Emily Dickinson, Amelia Earhardt and Goethe were read by Pastor Drosky. Words of remembrance were also given by Rik’s wife, Hattie, his children, Darby Hustler and Wensdee Camp, and other family friends.

A portion of Rik’s cremated remains were dropped from an airplane over Jump Town in Orange, Mass., where he loved to skydive. Rik was an organ donor and others will benefit from his gift of corneas and skin tissue donations.

Rik Hustler, a resident of Dudley Place, Bennington, died suddenly Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Jump Town in Orange.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
