Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- The liturgy of Christian death and burial for Richard McNulty was celebrated Friday morning, May 6, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Manchester.

The Rev. John Whalen was the celebrant. Music was under the direction of musician and organist Michael Gallagher. The scripture readings were offered by Kenneth Linehan. The offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Jeffrey Staab and Larry Glass. Committal services with full military honors followed in the family lot in Factory Point Cemetery in Manchester. Color guard members under the command of Wink Roberts included firing squad members Billy Weeks, Wink Roberts and Jim Johnson.

The flag that draped the veteran’s casket was folded by Steve Byrnes, Tom Hayes and Jim Johnson and presented to Mr. McNulty’s wife, Ginny. Taps was sounded by Maurice Rancourt. Serving as pallbearers were Scott Haviland, David Quesnel, Bob Biersweirth, Herb Stratton, Raymond Cariangpo and Bud Bell. Honorary pallbearer was Dick Piveratto.

A reception was held at the Harned-Fowler VFW Post 6471 in Manchester following the service. Mr. McNulty was survived by his stepson, Thomas Harriman of East Dorset. Richard H. McNulty, formerly of the Fields in Manchester, died May 2, 2005 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.

Arrangements were under the care of Brewster Funeral Service, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center.
