Obituary Condolences

NORTH BENNINGTON -- A prayer service was held for Mrs. Rita Tremblay on Wednesday morning at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian death and burial at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington with the Rev. Edward Howard, csc, pastor, officiating. Concelebrating the Mass was the Rev. Michael DeMasi. Assisting at the Mass was Mr. Merton Snow.

Selected hymns for the Mass played by organist Louise Gauthier and sang by soloist Mildred Pierce were “Amazing Grace,” “All I Ask of You,” “Be Not Afraid,” “Bread, Blessed and Broken” and “How Great Thou Art.”

The eucharistic gifts were presented at the altar by Mrs. Tremblay’s granddaughter, Jacqueline Corey, and her grandson, Neil Tremblay III, and her stepgreat-granddaughter, Adrienne Corey.

Interment followed in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington where Father Howard and Father DeMasi offered the prayers of committal.

Mrs. Rita J. Tremblay, 90, a longtime resident of Lincoln Street, died on Jan. 30, 2005, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington following a brief illness.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
