Obituary Condolences

SEARSPORT, Maine -- Robert A. Vail, 71, died suddenly on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, while walking in one of his favorite parks. He was born in Springfield, Vt. on Nov. 20, 1932, the son of Henry and Stella Vail.

He was recently predeceased by his brother Bill Vail and his brother in-law Paul Bohne.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Helene Vail, his sister Muriel Bohne, his brother-in-law Edward O’Connor and his wife Christine, many nieces and nephews, and very special friends in New England as well as North and South Carolina

Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and was a member of the American Legion and the DAV.

Although hampered over the years by several disabling illnesses, Bob lived each day with humor, serenity, acceptance and most of all concern and care for those in his life. His family and friends were all recipients of his famous hugs! He especially loved his last four years in Maine, the ocean, the home he and Helene considered a sanctuary, and the wildlife he saw in his yard and on his daily walks.

It was his wish that there be no service or memorial.

Arrangements are by the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
