Robert Andrew Chase 1940 - 2009 NEW PRESTON, CT Robert Andrew Chase, 68, of New Preston, Conn., died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Candlewood Valley Health Center, New Milford, Conn. He was the husband of Diane Nelson Chase. He was born in Bennington, Vt., July 30, 1940, son of the late Earl E. and Miriam Watt Chase. He was a graduate of Vermont Technical College in Randolph, Vt., and served in the National Guard. Mr. Chase worked for the State of CT., Dept. of Transportation, as a Transportation Senior Engineer for 36 years, retiring in 1997. In his retirement, he was an avid participate in his favorite hobbies, fishing, gardening, and photography of birds, gardens and nature. He was known as "GreenGlo Bob" on the ice and water., also "CHA-sea". Mr. Chase was an Honorary member of the Washington Volunteer Fire Company, and a member of the Sandy Pond Sportsman's Association and the Conn., Fisherman Association. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he leaves a sister, Evelyn Fennell, and her husband, Thomas of Canfield, Ohio, brother-in-law; Richard G. Nelson, and his wife, Barbara, of New Milford, Conn., sister-in-law; Susan N. Emma, and her husband, Philip, of Sarasota, Fla., sister-in-law; Donna N. Ocif of Torrington, Conn., several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and cousins in Florida, California, and Connecticut. He was predeceased by a son, Bradley A. Chase and a daughter, Cheryl L. Chase. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends may call on Friday, March 13, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the LILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT.
