Robert "Bubba" Davis
1960 - 2010 BENNINGTON, VT Robert "Bubba" Davis, 50, a former resident of Morgan St. in Bennington, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, under the care of VNA and Hospice.
He was born in Dillon, S.C., on April 10, 1960, son of Eddie and Betty Dixon Davis. Bubba received his education in Springfield, Mass., where he graduated from Putnam High School. He later attended Southern Vermont College where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
In earlier years, Bubba had been employed by JR's Limousine in Bennington and as a bouncer at the Ramada Inn. He most recently had been employed as a supervisor by the Bennington Coalition for the Homeless.
His children were his main interest. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding and listening to music.
He leaves his children, Imoni and Miles Davis of Bennington; his parents, Eddie and Betty Davis of Springfield, Mass.; three sisters, Henrietta, Betti and Sarah of Springfield; his close friend, James Lawton of Bennington, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, May 28, 2010, at 11 a.m. The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, May 27, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m.
If friends desire, contributions in memory of Robert "Bubba" Davis may be made to the Mahar and Son Funeral Home to help the family with expenses through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
