Robert F. Comar BENNINGTON Robert "Rob" Francis Comar, 82, of Worthington, Ohio, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2009.Graduate of Bennington High School and the University of Vermont. Veteran of Army, World War II, and Korean War, and was awarded three medals, and the UN Service Ribbon. Lieutenant Colonel in the Ohio Army National Guard. Flight instructor and Commander of the Army Aviation Facility, Worthington. Awarded the Ohio Distinguished Service Medal with "V" for Valor in February 1976, for heroic rescue by helicopter of two young boys from drowning. Predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Hope; parents, Joseph and Helen; brothers, Joseph, Richard, and Donald. He leaves his children, Robin, Richard, Ellen, and Cheryl, and grandchildren, Aimee, Samuel, and Matthew. FUNERAL NOTICE: Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions may be made in Robert Comar's memory to the USO World Headquarters, Department WS, PO Box 96860, Washington, DC 20090.
