Robert J. Harvey 1936 - 2008 BENNINGTON, VT. Robert Joseph Harvey, 72, of Stark Street died peacefully Saturday afternoon, Sept. 27, 2008, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bennington on Feb. 16, 1936, the son of John Raymond and Mary Forrest Harvey, Bob received his education in Bennington schools, graduating from Bennington High School. He also attended St. Michael's College in Winooski. Bob enlisted in the Air Force, serving his country from 1954-1958. Upon being honorably discharged, he went to work for Salem's Market and Drysdale's Department Store in Bennington and for the Brattleboro Reformer. Bob also worked as a vendor for Harvey's Hot Dogs. Bob enjoyed hunting, camping and playing golf. He loved computers, enjoyed playing poker and watching football. He leaves his brother, Charles A. Harvey of Bennington; his sister, Mary Ellen Farkas of Pittsfield, Mass., nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews. He was predeceased by his brother, J. Peter Harvey, who died Aug. 9, 2000, and by his brother-in-law, Robert G. Farkas, who died February 1998. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Visiting hours will be today, Monday, Sept. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME, 213 West Main St., Bennington, when the family will be in attendance.
