Robert O. Peckham 1916 - 2009 BENNINGTON Robert O. Peckham, 92, a former resident of Colonial Garden Apartments and Merson Street, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, following a long illness. For the past few years Bob has been residing with his niece, Jean Sausville of Bennington. Born in Fitchburg, Mass., on July 4, 1916, son of Olin and Edna Earl Peckham, Bob received his education in the Pittsford, N.Y. schools. He was a World War II Army veteran. For many years, Bob was employed by the Bausch and Lomb Optical Company in Rochester, N.Y. He later worked at the Waterveliet, N.Y., Arsenal until the time of his retirement. An avid bowler, he was a member of the Bennington Senior Citizen League for several years. He also enjoyed playing golf, photography and all forms of art. His wife, the former Dorothea Fox, whom he married July 27, 1944, in Bennington, died May 29, 2003. He leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Ann Mary and Robert Stopera of Cohoes, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl C. and Donna Peckham of Webster, N.Y., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 9:30 a.m. from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Should friends desire, donations in Robert C.
