BENNINGTON -- Robert D. Polatsek passed away at the Vermont Veterans Home on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 22, 1916, and was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School and the University of Wisconsin. During World War II, Bob was a first lieutenant in the Air Corps, where he served as a press officer. In 1946 he married Dorothy (Dora) Polatsek. Bob’s career was concentrated on journalism, public relations and advertising. He was employed by Fuller, Smith & Ross, Cleveland and Chicago, Leo Burnett and Campbell Ewald also in Chicago.

Bob was a resident of Bennington for the past 18 years and was a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Polatsek of Bennington; daughter Annie of Croatia; brother Edward and sister-in-law, Morgia of Marlton, N.J.

In his memory, contributions may be made to the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
