EAGLE BRIDGE, N.Y. -- Robert W. Green, 53, of State Route 22, died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of Patricia DeMarco Green.

Born in Cambridge on July 14, 1952, he was the son of Cora E. King Green of North Hoosick and the late Joseph F. Green Sr. He grew up in Hoosick Falls and attended school there. He and Patty were married on Feb. 23, 1974.

At one time, Bob worked at Polygraphic and Globe Union, both in Bennington. Most recently he worked as a machine operator at Vermont Tissue in North Bennington until it was closed.

Bob loved to hunt and fish. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease his family and friends. He was a kind, generous man with a big heart who would give you his last nickel if you needed it.

Along with his wife of 32 years, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Patricia “Tricia” and Barry Hayes of Cambridge and Robert W. Green Jr. and his wife, Shannon; one grandson, Dakota Jacob Green; eight siblings, Barbara Hayes of Alaska, Joseph Green Jr., Hiram Green of Arlington, Cora Grover and Kate Teleford of Buskirk, Charles Green and Brenda Young of North Hoosick, and Betty Reynolds of Petersburg; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday, July 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ackley & Ross Funeral Rome, 73 West Main St., Cambridge.

A service to honor and remember Bob’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m., with burial following at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to either the Cambridge Fire Department or the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, Cambridge, NY 12816.
