Rodger E. Secoy 1965-2011 MANCHESTER CENTER Rodger E. Secoy 46 a resident of Shady Pines died peacefully at his home on Thursday January 12, 2012 following a long courageous battle with cancer. Rodger was born in Bennington on August 19, 1965, he was the son of Paul F. and Madeline A. (Frederick) Secoy. He received his education at MEMS and Burr & Burton. He was a longtime member of the Vermont Army National Guard assigned to the 86th BSTB in Rutland. Rodger was a very hard working man, even through his illness he continued to work in his own business and logging for Pat Salo. In earlier years he had worked as a cook at Garlic John's, Chanteclear and Sirloin Saloon. Rodger also worked for Maurice johnson at Manchester Lawn Care for nine years. An avid outdoorsman, he was most at home in the woods where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He also liked to read books. Rodger was a member of the Vermont Trappers Association and was a former member of the Manchester Eagles. Rodger never went anywhere without his best friend Dekon, a Rotweiler mix. He leaves his brothers William Secoy of Tinmouth, James Secoy of Danby, John Secoy and Michael Secoy both of Manchester Center, sisters Rose Dorr of Bennington and Marie Secoy of Windsor, Conn., step children Andrew and Jen Bromley, former wife Sherry Albindraw, also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Beverly Bromley Secoy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday January 17 at 11 a.m. at Brewster Funeral Service.
