Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Rodney Rawling Sr., 66, a resident of Union Street, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on March 19, 1939, the son of Claude and Carolyn (Stickles) Rawling, and attended local schools, moving to Bennington in 1973.

Rodney was a veteran of the United States Army and upon discharge from active duty he worked as a milk processor for Fairdale Farms, which is now Garelick Farms.

Rodney loved woodworking and could often be found building wooden cars and trucks.

He cherished times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Rodney is survived by his son, Rodney Rawling Jr. of Pownal; two daughters, Candy Patience of Bennington and Autumn Wadsworth of Salem, N.Y.; his brother, Bruce Rawling of Petersburgh, N.Y.; two sisters, Faye Mazzeo of Pittsfield and Nancy Burns of Natick, Mass.; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Winifred, who died on Jan. 6, 2003.

At Mr. Rawling’s request there will be no formal funeral services.
