Obituary Condolences

ARLINGTON -- Mr. Roger Hansen, 62, died Jan. 5, 2005, in the Mayo Clinic at St. Luke’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Born in Castleton Corners on Feb. 10, 1942, he graduated from Curtis High School and from 1964 until 1970 served in the National Guard, stationed in Elizabeth, N.J. He moved to Annadale, N.Y., in 1967, and then to Sunderland in 1970. For the past eight years he had resided in Edgewater, Fla.

A telephone lineman for 30 years, Mr. Hansen worked for the New York Telephone Co. on Staten Island, and then the New England Telephone Co. in this area. He retired in 1991.

Mr. Hansen was a member of Red Mountain Lodge No. 63 F&AM of Arlington. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Claudia Collins; his son, Eric; two daughters, Heather Gilbert and Jennifer Hansen; a sister, Janet Lennox; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at the Federated Church of East Arlington on Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Thomas Truscott, interim pastor. Burial will follow in the Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland.

Following the committal services all are invited to attend a luncheon at the church’s Bailey Hall, hosted by the ladies of the church.

Arrangements are under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, Arlington Chapel, Route 7A.
