Roland J. LaCroix

BENNINGTON Funeral services for Roland J. LaCroix were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Thursday, May 20, 2010, where the Mass of Christian Burial was offered by Rev. Vincent Coppola, C.S.C., associate pastor.The Organist was Donald McMahon. Musical selections offered during the mass were "On Eagles Wings", "Here I Am Lord", "Ave Maria", and the "Air Force Hymn". Pete Taylor then sang "Tribute".

The casket pall was placed on Mr. LaCroix's casket by his five sons, John, Joseph, James Jeffrey and Andre. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Mr. LaCroix's wife, Maggie, and daughter, Peggy. The scriptural readings were offered by two daughters-in-law, Kathleen and Gloria LaCroix.

The Offertory Gifts were presented by four grandchildren, Christopher and Amy LaCroix and Maggie and Hannah Caron. The Eulogy was offered by a grandson, Christopher LaCroix

The burial took place in the family lot in the Village Cemetery of Bennington, with Rev. Coppola offering the committal prayer. Military Honors were accorded to the Air Force Veteran. Taps were sounded and the American flag was folded and presented to Roland's wife, Maggie.

A reception followed the service at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Parish Center

Serving as pall bearers were Mark White, Nathan White, Tyler White, Steve White, Dick LaBardi, Michael Connell, Phillip Sausville and Robin Tripp.

During the visitation, members of the Knights of Columbus Council 307 provided an honor guard. Mr LaCroix was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. The American Legion Post 13 also offered a service in remembrance of Roland.

Mr. Roland J. LaCroix, 80, a longtime resident of Bradford St., died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at home surrounded by his family.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington.
