Ronald A. Harper 1940 - 2008 BENNINGTON Ronald A. Harper, 67, of Hutton Street died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction, following a brief illness. Born in Blossburg, Pa., on Dec. 1, 1940, son of the late Richard and Madeline Conkright Harper, Ron was raised in Antrium, Pa., where he attended school. Following his schooling Ron joined the Army and served during the Korean War. Ron was employed as an auto body repair technician. He was an avid reader and enjoyed Sudoku puzzles. He later started his own woodworking business called Budget Home Repair. Ron enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. He was a member of the VFW Post 1332 and the Korean War Veterans Association. He leaves his wife, the former Carol Parker, whom he married Dec. 24, 1994, in Bennington. Besides his wife, he leaves his mother-in-law, Caroline Parker of Bennington; a brother-in-law, James Parker of Boxboro, Mass.; two daughters, Yvonne and Tammy; special friends, Jessica and Dusty; two brothers, Wayne Harper and Charley Harper of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Jenny Nickerson and Penny Thompson, both of New York, and Betsy Dutrry of Pennsylvania;. a sister -in-law, Connie Hopper of Pennsylvania, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Richard Harper. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will Monday, July 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. from the MAHAR and SON FUNERAL HOME. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
