Obituary Condolences

Ronald L. Bouplon 1946-2011 CAMBRIDGE Ronald L. Bouplon, 64, passed away after a short illness on Friday, September 2, 2011 surrounded by his children, who loved him dearly. He was the beloved husband of Leslie J. (Wager) Bouplon who predeceased him in 2007. Born on November 15, 1946 at home in North Hoosick, he was the youngest son of Stephen A. Bouplon, Jr. and Dorothy E. Coon Bouplon. Ron graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1964 and then served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of the American Legion in Cambridge. Ron and Leslie were married on September 13, 1969 at The First Methodist Church in Bennington and resided in Cambridge ever since. Ron was a skilled machinist who was employed at Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury, Vt., for many years. He then worked for Dodge Machine in Hoosick Falls until his retirement. He will be greatly missed for his friendly smile, sense of humor, and kind spirit. Ron owned, trained and raced harness horses for many years. He enjoyed fixing and selling tractors. He especially loved spending time at his home away from home, the Bouplon farm in White Creek, which has been in the family for several generations. He raised horses and beef cattle on the land, hunted deer, and taught his children to respect nature by sharing experiences on the farm with them. More recently he studied the Ojibwa ways, and felt that this Native American tribe was spiritually aligned with his views of life and nature. He cherished his family, including his dog Abby. In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his brother Wayne Bouplon. He is survived by three children, Shawn T. Bouplon of Cambridge, Renee J. Bouplon of Cambridge, and Kean L. Bouplon and wife Robin of Delmar; one brother, Gary (wife Sandy) Bouplon of Marinette, Wis., brother-in-laws Everett Wager and wife Pam and Thomas Wager, all of Bennington; an uncle, Raymond (Ed) Coon of Eagle Bridge; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved grandchildren Sofia J. Bouplon and James H. Bouplon.
