Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Ronald L. Maynard were held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005 from All Faiths Chapel at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by the Rev. Michael A. Demasi, chaplain. Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the funeral service were “I Know That My Redeemer Lives,” “Just A Closer Walk,” “Ave Maria” and “Song of Farewell.” The hymn “In The Garden” was sung by Keri Winnie who also offered the readings from the Old and New Testaments. A wooden cross was placed on Mr. Maynard’s casket by his wife, Pauline Maynard.

Bearers were Matthew Maynard, Timothy Maynard, George O’Brien, Derek LaCroix, Adam Stevens and Robert Short.

A prayer at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral mass.

Also conducting services on Friday evening were members of both American Legion Post 13 and Bennington Elks Lodge 567.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Demasi offering the committal prayers. The American flag that draped the casket of the World War II Navy veteran was folded by Ralph Brown and Joseph Krawczyk of American Legion Post 13 and presented to Mr. Maynards son Francis. Following the funeral service a reception was held at the home of Mr. Maynard’s son and daughter-in-law, Francis and Linda Maynard.

Mr. Maynard, a resident of Depot Street, died Nov. 2, 2005 at the Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
