NORTH BENNINGTON -- Ronald Pascal Wilkins, 36, a resident of Mechanic Street, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Ron was born in Bennington on May 12, 1971, he is the son of Ronald Wilkins and Emma (Burke) Bacon, he grew up in Shaftsbury and received his education in Shaftsbury and Bennington schools. For many years Ron has worked as a self-employed building contractor and took great pride in his work, he had also worked at U.S.T. and Miller Structures, both in Bennington. Since his high school years he has been a dedicated weight lifter and had coached weight training in area gyms. Ron enjoyed hunting, deep sea fishing and playing the drums, he was very involved in children’s sports and his family and children were the most important aspects of his life.

Ron leaves his mother and step-father Emma and Bernard Bacon of Shaftsbury; his father and step-mother Ronald and Darlin Wilkins of Bennington; his fiancé Pam Conley of North Bennington; his children Cody Wilkins of North Bennington, Pascal Wilkins of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Sampson Wilkins of North Bennington, Keri Wilkins of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., his step-daughters Arlene Lanteigne and Alijah Lanteigne of North Bennington; two brothers, Robert Wilkins and Curtis Bacon and his wife Karen Bacon of Bennington; a sister Kathy Wilkins of Pittsfield, Mass.; his former wife, Christine Harrington of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was predeceased by his grandparents, Pascal Wilkins, Maxine Freemeyer, Mary and Walter Burke; a nephew Bo Curtis Bacon and a niece Clarissa Eve Bacon.

Funeral services for Ron will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Twardy pastor of The Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek, N.Y. A memorial reception will follow the committal services at the North Bennington Fire House. Friends may call at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. when the family will be present.
